Snow Conditions in La Mongie Under the Microscope: Plan Your Trip to the Pyrenees As the gateway to the legendary Tourmalet and a major resort in the Grand Tourmalet ski area, La Mongie enjoys generous snowfall in the Pyrenees. The Central Pyrenees, exposed to oceanic air currents, sometimes receive surprising amounts of snow. Take a closer look at the figures in our table.

The total amount of snow that has fallen during the season reflects the intensity of winter precipitation. In the Pyrenees, snowstorms can be severe and result in considerable accumulations in a short period of time. The number of days with snow indicates the frequency of these storms and the resort’s ability to maintain a fresh snowpack.

The average snow depth at the base of the slopes reflects the typical conditions found at the lower end of the ski area, at an elevation of around 1,800 meters. The maximum snow depth recorded shows what the snowiest winters have had to offer skiers.

Checking the snow conditions in La Mongie gives you a sense of the potential of this resort, which, together with Barèges, makes up the largest ski area in the French Pyrenees. With its unique panoramic views of the Pic du Midi and 100 kilometers of slopes, La Mongie promises an unforgettable vacation. Use this history of snow conditions to help you choose your dates for your Azureva stay in the Hautes-Pyrénées.
