Winter mountain break with snowshoe trekking
Snowshoe trekking is a great way to discover nature in a different way…Explore the most beautiful hiking trails and admire nature in its frosty glory while doing some sport in the mountains – it’s possible with snowshoe trekking! Many trails are close to or even depart from our Azureva mountain resorts. After a delicious raclette or local Mont d’Or in one of our restaurants, treat yourself to a vacation with family and friends.
Snowshoe trekking, a gentle sport that adds dimension to your winter outings on snow-covered paths.
Snowshoeing is the best way to soak up the snow without having to descend the ski slopes. With snowshoeing, everyone goes at their own pace, and time seems to slow down but is nonetheless invigorating. This sport, which brings you closer to nature, is accessible to all, and offers a wealth of emotions. You’ll love sharing moments of happiness in front of a sunset with your other half, stopping off for a snowy picnic with your family, or immersing yourself in the warm atmosphere of an undergrowth and smelling the fresh scent of winter fir. For the more adventurous, you can take on the steepest trails, but dress warmly if you reach the passes, so that your eyes are ready for the big chill, and your body is well prepared too. We wouldn’t advise you to go to the ends of the earth just to stretch your legs and take in the sights.
A snow-covered landscape is like a new painting to explore. Nature changes, so does the terrain, and it’s time to get away from it all.
Discover our Top destinations for your winter snowshoeing vacations!
- Stay at Azureva Arêches-Beaufort, and enjoy the Beaufortain region with Mont-Blanc in the background: the Ptits Trappeurs outing, the link to the Col du Planay or the Entrus hike at 1720m.
- Winter vacations at Azureva Bussang in the Vosges: we recommend the signposted hiking trails on the Rochelotte ski area, which are accessible to the whole family, the snowshoe circuit starting from the Larcenaire ski slope and, for the more adventurous, the 3-kilometer itineraries at the top of the Ballon d’Alsace.
- Head for the Hautes-Pyrénées at Azureva Piau-Engaly Languedoc-Roussillon-Midi-Pyrénées : The magnificent route through the heart of the Massif du Néouvielle, dotted with frozen lakes, will amaze you. We also recommend day-long forest tours departing from the Piau Tourist Office.
