Do you love beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see? Well, the Vendée has 18 seaside resorts and over 140 km of sandy beaches. It’s not for nothing that the Vendée is one of the top tourist destinations on the Atlantic coast.
The good news is that everyone can enjoy it, even your favorite pets – that’s the Vendée! Dogs and their owners can enjoy a wide range of authorized beaches together, where they can stroll and stretch their legs. Be sure to check the signs and ask at the tourist office for details of all the beaches concerned and the various rules to be observed.
Visit Vendée Miniature
Vendée Miniature appeals to children and adults alike! Located in Bretignolles-sur-Mer, Vendée Miniature is a reconstruction of a Vendée village from the last century in 1/10th scale, with sound and light animations to bring the show to life. Nearly 650 costumed characters immerse you in the atmosphere of the period. Captivating!
Follow the oyster trail
Do you love oysters and want to know more about the work of an oyster farmer and the secrets of oyster farming? The Vendée offers you this pleasure thanks to its oyster route, which stretches along 80 km of coastline between the Loire estuary and the Baie de l’Aiguillon. On the program: guided tours and tastings, for a gourmet and enriching vacation!
Explore Green Venice
In the Marais-Poitevin, come and discover the Venise Verte (Green Venice) by boarding a plate, a traditional boat. It’s an ideal way to disconnect from the world around you and enjoy the marsh landscapes, with their wealth of flora and fauna. You can even canoe through the Venise Verte! If you’re curious about the history of the marshes, a guide can tell you all about it. Treat yourself to a leisurely stroll and enjoy some quality family time!
Bicycle-railing through the Vendée countryside
For an original ride, opt for the vélo-rail! The Commequiers velo-rail offers a 20 km round trip on a draisine, a fun way to cross the Vendée countryside with the strength of your arms. Among other things, you’ll discover Saint Gilles de Croix de Vie and cross the Vie river. It’s a fun and original way to make memories with family and friends!
