Skiing in the Alps

The ski resorts in the Northern and Southern Alps are numerous and renowned for their quality infrastructures. They cover several French departments and several European countries. Winter and summer alike, they offer sports and relaxation activities for the whole family, in idyllic settings with breathtaking landscapes. Sliding sports, balneotherapy centers, mountain biking, hiking, aerial activities and more are just waiting for you!

Among the most famous ski areas in France where you can spend a great vacation in the Alps: Les Portes du Soleil, Alpes d’Huez Grand Domaine, Vallée de Chamonix, Les Deux Alpes, Aravis, Evasion Mont-Blanc, Les Trois Vallées… and many other resorts to satisfy winter sports enthusiasts of all ages!

Tour the Mercantour National Park

Nestled between the Alpes de Haute Provence and the Alpes-Maritimes, the Mercantour National Park is well worth a visit. Nature lovers will be delighted to be able to admire over 3,000 animal and plant species so easily. In fact, the park boasts the greatest biodiversity in France!

You can also go hiking and marvel at the natural surroundings and charming alpine villages. If you’re lucky, you may come across chamois and deer along the way, or catch a glimpse of golden eagles. The Mercantour Park boasts no less than 600 kilometers of marked trails! Hardened walkers can tackle part of the GR5, attempt the Alpi Maritime or the Grande Traversée du Mercantour. Families will prefer to take a day hike to Lac d’Allos, at an altitude of 2,230 meters, which is easier to access thanks to its low-level trails. In fact, it’s the largest natural high-altitude lake in Europe!

Don’t forget to stop and admire the 40,000 prehistoric engravings in the Vallée des Merveilles, a must-see site in the Mercantour!

The Alps also boast other national parks that are a must-see for their incredible biodiversity and beauty, including the Vanoise and Ecrins national parks.

Visit Evian-les-Bains and Lake Geneva

Between Lake Geneva and the mountains, Evian-les-Bains is the ideal vacation destination! Stroll along its cobbled streets to admire its 18th-century architecture, fountains, stone facades and typical arcades… it’s impossible to get enough!
